Thai massage

Experience a millenary healing technique

Thai massage is a traditional therapy that combines acupressure techniques, stretching and passive yoga movements to balance the circulation of vital energy and release possible existing blockages. Unlike other types of massage, it is done on a futon on the floor and the receiver remains dressed in comfortable clothes. During the session, the therapist uses hands, elbows, knees and feet to apply pressure and perform stretches.

It is believed that this important legacy has been influenced by several sources, which were integrated with the practices and wisdom already existing in Thailand. It has influences from India, from Yoga and from what would later become Ayurveda; from China, and what would later become Traditional Chinese Medicine; and from Buddhism, among others. The Buddhist monastic community travelled from India to other Asian countries to spread the Dharma, and its practice merged with the traditional medicines of each region or country.
